Each TussiCaps® capsule contains an accurate, consistent dose of hydrocodone and chlorpheniramine.
TussiCaps® is available in two-dose strengths:
- 10 mg/8 mg (Adults and children 12 years of age and older)
- 5 mg/4 mg (children 6-11 years of age)
There is no AB-rated generic equivalent to TussiCaps®.

IMPORTANT RISK INFORMATION
TussiCaps® (hydrocodone polistirex and chlorpheniramine polistirex) extended-release capsules are indicated for relief of cough and upper respiratory symptoms associated with allergy or cold in adults and children 6 years of age and older. TussiCaps is contraindicated in children under 6 years of age.
TussiCaps® is contraindicated in the presence of known allergy or sensitivity to hydrocodone or chlorpheniramine. The most common adverse reactions associated with TussiCaps® are sedation, drowsiness, and mental clouding, which may impair the mental and/or physical abilities required for potentially hazardous tasks. Overdose with hydrocodone-containing products has been associated with fatal respiratory depression. Benefit to risk ratio should be carefully considered especially in pediatric patients with respiratory embarrassment.
